Good, Clean Fun All Year Long

How to Motivate Family’s To Cleaning All Year Longcleaning famliy

Families look forward to spending time in the great outdoors, but moms know that this often brings them a heap of grass-and-dirt-stained laundry to tackle. However, there’s good news for moms who love that their families are outside, active and having fun, but dread the laundry-room fight to remove the stains from their families’ outdoor wear.

All year long, families enjoy heading outside to spend time together-barbecues, camping trips, football games and more.

Families look forward to this special time spent enjoying the great outdoors, but moms know that these festivities often bring with them a heap of grass-and-dirt-stained laundry to tackle. According to a study conducted by Unilever, moms claim that stains are their number one laundry problem, with 54 percent saying they find grass stains very difficult to remove.*

However, there’s good news for moms who love that their families are outside, active and having fun, but dread the laundry-room fight to remove the stains from their families’ outdoor wear. There’s a new laundry solution that provides exceptional cleaning.

Wisk Dual Action is a three-times concentrated detergent with stain-dissolving power, specially formulated to double as a pre-treater for stubborn stains.** When used as both a pretreater and detergent, it is tougher on grass stains than the leading detergent and pretreater combined.*** Tough and compact, a 32-oz. bottle cleans up to 32 loads of laundry-the same amount as a 100-oz. bottle of traditional detergent.

“We believe that you should go out and have fun, even if you get dirty in the process,” says Howard Kaiserman, Laundry RTC Director, Unilever. “We’ve developed Wisk Dual Action-a concentrated formula that is both an effective pretreater stain remover and a great whole wash detergent. One small capful gets your whole wash clean without having to buy an extra pretreater product.”

Now, no matter what the occasion, moms can encourage their families to go ahead and get dirty, knowing Wisk Dual Action will handle the tough stains and help keep the family outdoor fun worry-free. The detergent is available at local grocery and mass retail stores.

A proven stain fighter allows families to enjoy good, clean fun-even if they get dirty in the process.

Cleaning Water Damaged Carpets

For residents living in areas that are prone to flooding, owning a carpet can be a huge pain in the neck, especially if flood waters somehow manage to get inside the house and drench the carpet in muddy water and sewage. While most carpet owners would prefer to throw out water damaged carpets,

there are many who would want to save them, especially if the carpet is a family heirloom or a priceless antique…

If your carpet has been water damaged, you need to do a lot of things in order to save it. Not properly fixing the problem can result in carpets emitting a foul, musty smell or, worse, ends up becoming a growth bed for molds and mildew. Before you start work on your carpet, you need to determine what type of water has seeped into it. If the water damage has been caused by “clean” water, such as that coming from a leaking faucet or an overflowing bathtub, you don’t have to worry about contaminants. You only need to extract the water with a pump or shop-vac and let it dry.

On the other hand, if your carpet was damaged by gray, brown or even black flood waters, it may have been seriously contaminated. Rather than have it become a health hazard in your home, it is more advisable to throw it away.

If your carpet had been damaged by flood waters but not so extensive, here is what you need to do…

  1. Get as much water out of the carpet as you can with the help of a shop-vac or pump.
  2. Inspect the padding of the carpet. If it has been ruined by the flood waters, throw it out.
  3. Wash the carpet using mild wool detergent until the water runs clean.
  4. Once you have finished washing it, carry it outside and let it dry in the air. Make sure that your carpet is lying flat.
  5. Once the carpet is dry, inspect it carefully again. If there are still stains or there is a foul smell coming off from it, you might need to repeat the above steps or, better yet, take it to a professional carpet cleaner for a more thorough cleaning.
  6. If you were forced to remove the ruined carpet padding and throw it away, take the carpet to a carpet repair shop and have a new padding placed.
  7. Before re-installing your carpet, make sure that the floor is totally clean and dry.

How To Do Spring Cleaning The Right Way

Motivation is key to getting things done and getting them done fast. Motivate yourself and the family with a special outing when the project is complete. The professionals don’t take TV or email breaks and you shouldn’t either. The ultimate goal for professionals is to get in and get out, for you it’s get done and move on!

Listen to some music that really gets you moving. You could even load an audio book onto your iPod and listen to that while you clean. That’s multitasking at its best!

Don’t forget that dirt and dust follow the laws of gravity. It falls just like everything else. So, start at the top and work your way down.

Cleaning Safety Tips

Make sure you dress for the job. You want to be comfortable but functional. The clothes you wear should be loose but not so loose as to catch on corners, doorknobs, or anything that could spill.

If you’re going to be on your knees a lot, look at investing in some knee pads. The professionals use them, and for good reason. You’ll loose steam and motivation quickly if you start feeling uncomfortable.

Don’t forget the gloves! These can keep the germs and chemicals off your skin. The regular yellow cleaning gloves you see at any grocery store will work fine.

Have a Plan!

Probably the most important thing you’re going to want to do, before you even break out the mop, is have a plan! This alone can cut a major amount of time off your cleaning project. Instead of guessing what to do next, you’ll have your plan of action right in front of you.

Top of the list: pick up the clutter.

You don’t want to slide your junk from side to side or just clean under and around it. Doing this first will make your whole job easier.

How do The Pro’s Clean Windows?

Windows appears to be fine and superlative if they are clean. Cleaning should be done on a regular basis, at least twice a year.window cleaning

Given below are some useful techniques for cleaning a window:

• Clean one part of a window with the horizontal strokes and the other part with the vertical strokes. This makes it so you are further away from getting those pesky streaks!

• The big mystery to not big those dreaded streaks we all can’t stand is to simply use a squeegee in a fluid, z formation.  The part which can take some trial and error is to never let up on the squeegee, keep it taut on the glass at all times.

• Bring a flexible toothbrush or cotton swab in use to clean the corners.

• To give a superfluous shine to the window glass, polish it with the well-washed cotton T-shirts or old cloth diapers. Or could easily take a new blackboard eraser and work it a wax on wax off motion which will leave and awesome shine.

• Polishing windows with the wrinkled newspaper will have a luminous effect. Which actually leaves an oil from the ink in the paper which then will protect the glass.

• When its time to conqueror the window seals use a dry solvent, like alcohol or ammonia as it will cut the grease from the track ball and lock and also pull out stuck in dirt and ground in bees.

• Make certain that you dry out your windows in one direction only, leftwards or rightwards as mingling of the direction will not give a tidy look.

• If you are cleaning the window sills, scrape the entire surface through the wet cloth sprayed with alcohol so that all the spots get cleared.

Did these tips help you, did they make your guests throw out an unexpected compliment on how clean your windows are? Let us know!
